Cirque du Soleil
Cirque du Soleil presents Alegria in autumn 2011 in Salzburg. More than 10 million viewers worldwide have already seen those spectacular artistic performances. 2011 you can see the breathtaking acrobatic performances, the fantastic costumes and the beautiful Live-Soundtrack in Oberhausen, Leipzig, Stuttgart, München, Salzburg, Berlin, Bremen, Köln, Frankfurt and Mannheim.
Alegria is the spanish word for luck, joy and enthusiasm. And exactly these feelings describe the unique artistic performances. More than two hours the viewer experiences a sensationally choreographed spectacle with its acrobatic masterstrokes. Light and sound cascades amplify the imaginary character of the performance. 400 costumes, wigs and accessories transform the 55 artists from 17 countries time and time again.
Alegria has created new standards for acrobatics. Outstanding are inter alia the Synchro-Trapeze duo that contradicts the laws of gravity and the intense, energetic "Russian Bars," where the protagonists are catapulted more than ten meters high into the air. The magic of the risk will be revealed by the Mongolian fire-knife dance. Youthful power will be demonstrated by "Power Track", a brilliant performance in synchronized choreography on a trampoline hidden under the stage floor system. Thus, Alegria has many different attractions and is an unique experience, which is more than a show and fascinates the young and the old ones.
To touch people, to inspire their imagination and challenge their senses are the self-imposed requirements of Cirque du Soleil. The typical mix of acrobatics, music, dance and theater meet the self-imposed goals without doubt. The eclectic mix of different characters and the opulent visuals transform the viewer into a fantastic dreamworld.
Since its foundation in 1984 Cirque du Soleil developed from a small project with 20 street performers into a major organization, which provides a high-caliber artistic entertainment. The company employs more than 5,000 employees, including the 1,200 artists from 50 different countries.
The incomparable Cirque du Soleil has fascinated more than 100 million viewers in 300 cities on five continents with its distinctive productions. Currently, there are about 21 Cirque du Soleil shows which perform at the same time in different parts of the world. The international head office of Cirque du Soleil is located in Montreal, Canada.
