Born in the wild and beautiful hills of Connemara, Ireland, Celtic Legends have toured the world since their inception. The show, filled with the traditional music and dance culture of Ireland, can now be seen in every corner of the world. Featuring 100% live music, dance and song with an eye to culture and ancient history, the show creates an electric atmosphere that transports the audience to Ireland, its culture, its land, its pubs, its music and its heart.
Irish dancing has experienced an impressive resurgence in recent years. The performance of traditional Irish dancing makes the show more real; the dancers and musicians are more creative and dynamic, the audience is more engaged and everyone leaves the show feeling more engaged and better informed about what Ireland is really about.
All Celtic Legends dancers have competed internationally from a young age and have won many different championships, including the World Championships. Celtic Legends musicians are the best in the world with virtuoso skills and an unmatched love for their art.
Choreographer Jacintha Sharpe has extensive experience and is respected by dancers around the world. After touring the world with some of the best acts, Jacinta wanted to create a more distinctive, vibrant and exciting style of Irish dance, so she jumped at the chance to join Celtic Legends. She created traditional pieces that fit perfectly with the live stage sound that the musicians create. Complex group numbers complement the freer solo pieces that have become a hit on the show.
Celtic Legends musical director Sean McCarthy is widely regarded as one of the best Uilleann pipe players in the world. Sean has been awarded the Uilleann Pipes All-Ireland title six times and has won the prestigious 'Oireachtas na Gaeilge' tournament three times in a row. He has performed all over the world with the best dance shows and groups.
Sean created a unique show - traditional, live and spectacular, which will be presented for the first time in Slovakia.
