Blue

Postponed to 2016

on 07 Sep

The concert of Blue in the 14th of October was postponed to 2016.
New date will come later or tickets can be refund in the place of the order.

Lee Ryan has for several months had an on-going issue with his voice and therefore his ability to sing the top notes, for which he is renowned with Blue, has during that period been a struggle. Twice treated for nodules in the last three months, the underlying condition was diagnosed last week as a cyst which is situated on his vocal chords. I would like to underline that the cyst is non-cancerous.

There are many different reasons as to how and why a cyst can develop on the vocal chords but stress, life style and / or technique can all play a role but the effect on someone who sings regularly can be devastating as is the case with Lee.

Lee will require immediate surgery, which has been scheduled within the next ten days, to remove the cyst. Post surgery he will begin working with a vocal coach to bring his voice back to full strength. This process is a slow one and the recovery time varies from person to person. If the recovery plan is adhered to there is no reason why Lee cannot return his voice to full strength.

Blue have in the last three years, had a demanding schedule having released two studio albums (“Roulette” (2013) and “Colours” (2015)), starred in two ITV shows (“Big ReUnion" (2013) and “Blue Go Mad In Ibiza” (2015)) and having performed over 250 shows and events in 24 countries worldwide playing to over 1.8 million people. In addition the boys have also done solo projects (“Celebrity Big Brother” (Lee Ryan) & “Strictly Come Dancing” (Simon Webbe) being two notable examples).

As Lee will need to utilise the weeks' post surgery for recovery, we have decided to postpone Blue's European tour scheduled to start in early October. Antony, Duncan and Simon all stand behind Lee as he goes through this surgery and it was a collective agreement that the tour should be postponed until such time that Lee was fit and well again. The need for surgery and his deteriorating voice of late has not been easy for Lee but he is looking forward to the recovery and being back on stage with Blue as they look forward to “Fifteen Years of Blue” in 2016.
