Women’s EHF EURO 2024
More teams, more games, more fun! The Women’s EHF EURO 2024 in Austria, Hungary, and Switzerland from 28 November until 15 December 2024 will be the first women’s European Championship with 24 national teams competing for the trophy – the coveted golden plate.
24 teams on the big stage
Can record winners and defending champions Norway add yet another title to their long list of EHF EURO achievements? How far will each of the host nations progress at their home event?
Competition will be stiff, and with eight additional participants in the mix compared to previous editions, the final tournament spreads its wings even further across Europe as more teams appear on the big stage and, as a result, an increasing number of fans will be able to cheer for their national heroes.
Perfectly reachable venues for all fans
Like in 2022, the 2024 final tournament will again be hosted by three countries. Located in central Europe, the playing venues of Vienna and Innsbruck in Austria, Debrecen in Hungary, and Basel in Switzerland are perfectly reachable for fans flocking to the EHF EURO from all corners of the continent.
A true feast of handball
In Vienna, one of the most liveable cities in the world, the 16,000-capacity Wiener Stadthalle is Austria’s largest event centre and one of Europe’s top 10 entertainment arenas. It already hosted EHF EUROs before – in 2010,2020 when the men’s events turned into a true feast of handball here.
The Olympiahalle in Innsbruck, with 8,000 seats, is the other appealing Austrian venue for the Women’s EHF EURO 2024, as the city breathes sports all over as a two-time host of the Olympic Winter Games.
Outstanding host of top-level sports events
Debrecen proudly presents the newly renovated Fönix Aréna, a multi-purpose venue with space for 6,500 fans. The second-largest city in Hungary, Debrecen has made a name for itself as an outstanding host to a range of top-level international sport events.
And last but not least, Basel is home to the St. Jakobshalle, the epicentre of Swiss sports with a capacity of 6,500. Among numerous other events, the arena is known for hosting the annual ATP tennis tournament, which has been won by Swiss legend Roger Federer nine times.
Now is the time to book your tickets for the Women’s EHF EURO 2024! Austria, Hungary, and Switzerland are looking forward to your visit.
